~Boost ™ liquid is intended for use in the management of post-biliary convalescence and other debilitating hepatic disease conditions. The Boost formula contains high levels of essential amino acids for liver support and to assist in the formation of haemoglobin and red blood cells. Boost ™ is also a good general tonic when dogs are listless and have little or no appetite. The formula is palatable and readily accepted. It is also an excellent source of energy. THE VITAMINS: Boost ™ contains vitamin E, the most important fat-soluble antioxidant in the body, which may support immune function and assist in preventing inflammation. The vitamin B combination in Boost ™ improves red cell production and strengthens the nervous system, resulting in more efficient energy for tissue repair and a boost to the immune system. This is especially important in debilitated animals. Oxidants damage molecules and can cause disease and inflammation. THE AMINO ACIDS: Methionine is an important part of angiogenesis (the growth of new blood vessels), while arginine is used in the biosynthesis of proteins (the biological process whereby cells generate new proteins). GINKGO BILOBA: This is a tree native to China that has been grown for thousands of years for a variety of uses. While its leaves and seeds are often used in traditional Chinese medicine, modern research primarily focuses on ginkgo extract, which is made from the leaves. Besides being a powerful antioxidant, studies indicate that the additional benefits of gingko biloba include fighting inflammation, improving circulation and heart health, and improving brain function and well-being, amongst others.
